Flying the Kitemark™ |
Melba Swintex is the only manufacturer that currently offers a Traffic Cone range that is accredited to display the Kitemark™ by the British Standards Institution. Each Cone family has undergone, and continues to undergo, rough and rigorous testing to the technical specifications set out by the British Standards Institution. Below is the full range of Traffic Cones approved to fly the Kitemark™. |
Mastercone
One of the most practical two piece cones on the market. The Mastercone has been dominant on the roads for many years. Incorporating the Melba Swintex high performance prismatic Starlux™ sleeve, the Mastercone is highly visible to all motorists. |
Kingkone
The Kingkone comes in two types; a two piece blow moulded 460mm cone, or a one piece, sand weighted, blow moulded 750mm cone. |
A Statement Regarding the MPL Cone
Melba Swintex wishes to notify that the MPL Cone, a cost-effective one-piece Traffic Cone is no longer accredited with the Kitemark certification from the British Standards Institution, as of April 2018, and will therefore not bear any markings on the physical product. This affects both the MPL 750 and MPL 500. |
The Thor Barrier |
|
Thor – Norse God and member of the Avengers is renowned for his incredible strength.
|
As strong as any Norse God. Reinforced with metal interior tubes and attached to two 28 kg feet, this has to be the strongest Barrier there is.
|
Thor is also renowned for summoning lightning bolts with the help of his mighty hammer, Mjolnir.
|
No need for a magic hammer, Melba Swintex has invested heavily in high-tech machinery so that we can offer LIGHTNING FAST production & lead times.
|
As mighty as Thor is, and he is mighty, he is even MIGHTIER when he works with his friends the Avengers.
|
Just like Thor, this barrier values his friends and it connects together using the high strength Thor Hook.
|
Thor brings the power of the storm.
|
When the storm hits, this barrier is not moving!

In Case You Missed it…Here’s a run down of the end of year at Melba Swintex |
With fantastic new products, stunning lead times and standard items constantly replenished and kept in stock, it’s no wonder we are so busy. We therefore should look back on the year so far to see where the time has gone.
|
JulyIn July we saw the release of the Tuff Anti Trip Foot the fourth in the series of our Barrier Feet. The Tuff Foot and the Tuff Anti-Trip Foot are compatible with the Olympic, Tuff, and Vision barriers from Melba Swintex. |
AugustDuring August, we announced the launch of the New Utility Barrier onto the Traffic Management market. The Utility Barrier comes in either a 750mm or a 1m version. This has been our most successful product launch to date, meaning investment in more tooling to keep up with demand within a month of launch. Colour coding and embossing flexibility gives us a huge edge on the competition. |
SeptemberMelba Swintex gets the Kitemark for its entire range of cones. This mark of quality is now branded on our products and means you can expect top quality every time. We are the only company in the UK with Kitemarked cones. |
OctoberIn October we sneakily hinted at a new bin in our Litterbin range. We are pleased to say it has now been launched, and the Darcy Litterbin is our first Keyless Bin in the range.
|
NovemberMelba Swintex were proud to announce in November that the new Utility Barrier that hit the market just under a few months ago, has been officially approved for use by Openreach, a BT Business Group. |
DecemberOur Safety Utility Barrier nicknamed the Buzz Barrier has now hit the American market and has proved a huge success, and no doubt will be as popular on that side of the pond as it it is on this one. |
